ERV 2010 VR7 Toyota Land Cruiser

The emergence of explosive threats such as Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) has become the number one concern for vehicle survivability.  In addition to the to VR7 ballistic certification process, IAG has also conducted comprehensive blast testing under ERV2010 standard for the armored Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Convoy®.  The experienced technicians of Beschussamt Mellrichstadt prepared the test which consisted of the following types of explosives threats:

  • Floor:  2x DM51 German Ordinance Hand Grenades
  • Floor:  1x HG85 Swiss Fragmentation Hand Grenade
  • Floor: 1xDM31 Anti-Tank Fragmentation Land Mine
  • Roof:  2x DM51 German Ordinance Hand Grenades
  • Roof:  1x HG85 Swiss Fragmentation Hand Grenade
  • Side:  12.5 KG PETN (17KG TNT Equivalent)

The test vehicle was inspected after each blast.  The IAG Convoy® sustained no deformations or penetrations in the armored passenger cabin, effectively shielding the occupants from the shrapnels and pressures of the various explosives.
